Qbase Fundraising Manager™ set to take fundraising management to next level

The latest web-hosted fundraising software previewed
at AFP in Dallas to launch in Summer 2007

DALLAS, Texas — Qbase, an advanced data management and analytics company based in Dayton, Ohio, previewed its latest relationship management software – Qbase Fundraising Manager™ – to fundraisers at the Association of Fundraising Professional conference in Dallas. “We built Fundraising Manager for fundraisers by fundraisers,” said Jodi Barnard, VP and General Manager for Higher Education and Nonprofit Markets for Qbase. “Qbase launched in 2005 to serve markets we care about – including higher education and nonprofits.” These two market segments have been traditionally underserved in terms of the technology being offered, Barnard said. “Our goal has been to bring cutting edge advanced data management and analytics to these organizations.”

This latest effort, to design and build a web-hosted fundraising management solution was identified early on as the next needed step in serving fundraisers,
said Barnard. “Our team spent the last thirty-five years as professional fundraisers before joining Qbase.” Barnard said. “So our focus was to build a solution that filled all of the gaps among existing choices and to provide an effective, easy-to-use, alternative.”

Qbase Fundraising Manager will be a comprehensive relationship management software package delivered via the web. Barnard said that in addition to the team’s professional experience, Qbase conducted market research to learn what specific issues faced her peers. “Our research revealed the difficulties fundraisers are experiencing with their current software.” Qbase took these responses and built Fundraising Manager around specific needs and wants. “We call them the ‘wows’ that really make a big difference to viable and efficient donor management,”
she said.

Web-hosted solution
Qbase made the early decision to offer Fundraising Manager as a web-hosted solution. This means that customers never have to worry about complicated software installations, upgrades or systems conversion in order to use Fundraising Manager. Any organization with a computer and web access can use it, from any location, at any time.

This model of delivering software has been around for many years in the corporate world, known as ASP (Application Service Provider) model. The ASP model allows users to focus on their work tasks rather than the technology needed to complete them. “One of the best aspects of this model is it allows fundraisers to spend more time and energy actually raising funds rather then worrying about their database and next software upgrade,” said Barnard.

It also delivers the critical ability to access your constituent database anytime, from anywhere. Recent focus groups of the product in development have confirmed the importance of easy access. Whether gift officers are logging in from a prospect visit or experiencing network problems within the institution, fundraisers need 24/7 access to their database and donor information. Qbase Fundraising Manager is “going to make it a lot easier for me and our institution,” said William Stoval, Ph.D., Director of Development with Central State University in Ohio.

The technology
Qbase Fundraising Manager is a natural extension of Qbase’s data management and analytics solutions already in the marketplace across several verticals, including higher education and nonprofit markets.

What is particularly compelling is the technology itself, having been developed by a technology team formerly with global information giant LexisNexis. “Our technology team developed data management and search technology that amounts to building a supercomputer,” said Qbase CEO Bill Pardue, formerly the CEO of Corporate
and Federal Markets for LexisNexis. “They know how to work with billions of
records at sub-second speeds which gives our clients a distinct advantage on
data performance and cost.”

Qbase offers two essential lines of products and services covering a full range
of data management and analytics. “It’s time we move from the data age to the information age,” said Pardue. “Qbase tools helps companies organize their data
in clear, understandable terms and then helps them perform analytics such as predictive modeling to leverage their data for better decision-making.”
