Qbase to open new facility in Springfield
Dayton Business Journal (February 26, 2007)
A Beavercreek data analytics company announced Monday it will expand into Springfield, investing $15 million and creating 100 jobs there.
The new facility will be built by Mills-Morgan Development in the NextEdge Technology Park. Qbase Data Service Ltd., which manages data and provides data analysis, will open the new offices and employ 40 people in the first year and 100 in the first three. The average annual compensation package in Springfield will be more than $90,000, said Bill Pardue, chief executive officer.
"Beyond high-value jobs and investment, this collaboration will help spur revitalization and community entrepreneurship in Springfield," said U.S. Rep.
Dave Hobson, R-Springfield, in a press release.
The facility will house a new industry focus for the company: health care. It currently works with nonprofit organizations, higher education institutions, government and media and publishing.
The work Qbase will do in the health care field will allow health care providers to more efficiently track and anticipate events affecting patient treatment and safety, said Bryan Bucklew, president and chief executive officer of the Greater Dayton Area Hospital Association, in a press release.
Gary Lustgarten, network director for the Kettering Medical Center Network, said the Wallace-Kettering Neuroscience Institute will help to develop the new health care application in Springfield and provide scientific expertise.
Qbase has 60 workers at its Beavercreek location at The Acropolis at Fairfield Commons. Pardue has said he expects revenue to reach $5.6 million for the company by the end of this year.
